I used the Goodreads “search by rating” function to find these, since I’d blocked some of them from my memory. Some of my lowest-rated 1 star books.

Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper—Case Closed by Patricia Cornwall (unconvincing, case not closed)

Owls in the Family by Farley Mowat (how tf did this genius man write this one stinker of a book when all his others are bangers)

Mr. Popper’s Penguins (how can you make a man getting a penguin in the mail this unfun)

The Inheritance by Louisa May Alcott (nauseating drivel, women suffering in silence, no payoff)

Hmm, sounds familiar. *checks personal book database* Uh oh.

Ah well, it was cheap and I fully expected it to be a bullshit title. I bought it mostly as a resource for the Ripper case evidence, not because I expected any resolution. I just hope it's at least readable.

These are some of my lowest-rated but yeah, you can search by either lowest-rated on GRs or your own personal lowest-rated books.

I've got Eclipse and Breaking Dawn (books 3 and 4 in the Twilight series) among my lowest rated books. Also Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner.

I only have 3 out of 299! I am not afraid to dnf so that makes sense. Also I just realized those 3 were book club picks which is probably the only reason I fished them.
