Welcome readers,

Have you ever wanted to ask something but you didn't feel like it deserved its own post but it isn't covered by one of our other scheduled posts? Allow us to introduce you to our new Simple Questions thread! Twice a week, every Tuesday and Saturday, a new Simple Questions thread will be posted for you to ask anything you'd like. And please look for other questions in this thread that you could also answer! A reminder that this is not the thread to ask for book recommendations. All book recommendations should be asked in /r/suggestmeabook or our Weekly Recommendation Thread.

Thank you and enjoy!

Are superhero books a thing? Not comic books, but actual books, and also not anything marvel/DC related.

I figure there might be some of that subject matter in YA or middle grade, but I've written one for the adult market and was wondering if there's much precedent for that

I haven't read any of these, but after going through the list, I'll have to check some out:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Fantasy/comments/auks2i/20_recommended_superhero_novels_from_sanderson_to/

To be honest, it's not something I have sought out, as I'm a big comic book fan, but definitely sounds like something that I'd be interested in.

Wow, thanks. Gonna have to look into these myself. I agree that it's a really niche field. Hence why I'm very worried about pitching anything like that. I do have a more traditional fantasy in the works so worst case scenario I can use that and come back to the superhero stuff with more clout.

When I was in middle/high school, I read the Jack Blank books. The first Accidental Hero was good. I tried reading some by the author Lucas Flint, but didn’t get hooked into them. Curious by the books as well.

Soon I Will Be Invincible by Austin Grossman is a great book. I'm sure there are others.

Edit: I just saw that it's #1 on the list linked to in the other comment. I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed it.

There are some, but off the top of my head the only ones I've read that I can think of are: the Renegades series by Marissa Meyer (YA but more upper YA) and Hench by Natalie Zina Walschots. The latter is adult and deals with the bystander victim who gets hurt when a superhero does his hero thing- it's a good read!

Hi, I've been looking for the book "The clever princess" by Diana Coles for a while now, and it doesn't seem to exist anywhere on the internet, in any form, to buy physical or download in digital. It only seems to exist in a number of UK libraries, but I don't live near the UK so that doesn't really help. Here's the book's info according to google books.

Title: The clever princess

Author: Diana Coles

Illustrated by: Ros Asquith

Publisher: Sheba Feminist, 1983

Pages: 60

ISBN: 0907179207

It was adapted into the Japanese animated movie "Princess Arete" by Studio 4c in 2001.

Can anyone help me get or at least read this book in any form?

Thank you in advance.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I live in Greece if that information helps any.

Hi!

I've had a look on Nielsen Book Data and it seems this is no longer in print. I am based in the UK and happy to see if it's in a library local to me to try and purchase if you would like?

Thank you, if you can take a look whenever you can I would appreciate it. If you do find it and they are willing to sell it, just message me to tell me the cost. :)

Does anybody know if the ISBN for the holographic version of Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin is different than the non-holographic one? And/ or if the holo version is just the UK edition?

I specifically want to buy the shiny one, but whether or not it's holographic isn't included in the descriptions I've seen and it's hard to tell from the pics

Hi. My post was automatically deleted, so I'll try to ask my question here. Hope it's ok.

I've used Goodreads for years but now I'm looking for an alternative. I need a book API for my new service but Goodreads doesn't issue new keys to developers and is planning to close the service.
I wonder what is the best alternative to Goodreads? I only need the ability to add books to shelves and use their API.

Looking for old cover art or any info on it 😓 (Blood leaf series books 2 & 3) Crystal Smith

So I really do love this book series... An maybe I'm being too picky 😅 but I can't get over the change to the cover art after the first book... I like my books to at least match in a sense whether on my bookshelf and you will cover art just looks better to me. Plus the first book I bought has the old cover art... I feel bad bc ik the author really likes the new cover art better... An some places show the old cover art with a new book store you can buy it that I've already tried some of those places and I've already gotten scammed because the books I buy are not the old cover art it's the new cover... Does anyone on here happen to know where I can get the old cover art for both the books Greythorne an Ebonwilde?
