Okay! :) Will check it out.
Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman. Just finished it and it's really great.
Okay :) I'll add that to my list too!
The Lonely City, by Olivia Laing
It's absolutely stunning -- a lovely, empathetic, beautifully written, and thoughtful examination of what it's like to be alone -- how to do it well, and without toxicity -- as well as of how loneliness is often unjustly perceived, etc.
It honestly changed my life for the better.
This really sounds like the kind I was looking for. This is gonna be my first read!
I'm so happy it helped! It is one of the most unique and beautiful things I've ever read -- an entire book-length meditation on what it is like to live alone, what that means in society, how to do it happily, the ways it is misconstrued by others, etc.
I hope you enjoy it -- take care out there.
thank you! really appreciate the kind words ':)
I Am Legend By Richard Matheson
Okay I'll see that!
A Man Called Ove
Okay I'll see this :)

Okay!
Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
Okay I'll check it out! :)
Most (all?) books by Kazuo Ishiguro

Can't recommend Murakami due to his depiction of women in his books.
Bad take. You should still read books and authors with flaws. If you look for the perfect book, you’ll be limited to like 5 books.
You don’t have to agree with or like Murakami’s depiction of women, but he still has merit in other areas that his books are worth reading.
Nah it's not even worth it even without the descriptions of women being just tits on legs. Just an opinion.
That’s a huge oversimplification. He has written some interesting female characters especially in short stories.
If you like.
Cheers
Yes it's pretty objectified 😅
