I can’t find the original post but someone posted a stack of books to read for the year (not bear, haha), including Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry. A fellow reader commented saying that Lonesome Dove had changed their life.
I only really knew about Lonesome Dove from the mini series my mom taped (over my childhood cartoons, no less) off TV in the 90s, but figured what the hell….I’d try it. At first glance it looks like a western, but it’s so much more. Action, adventure, betrayal, romance, friendship, struggles & survival. Plus ponies!
I finished this masterpiece in 2 days. Couldn’t put it down. Absolutely my favourite book.
Pick up a copy. You can thank me later.
