What the heck is with the ending of go ask Alice she goes from basically being good and able to cope with herself then the book says she died 3 weeks later from an overdose but the books spends so much time suggesting she is getting better she even ends up going to an asylum and after that claims to be better the book doesn't even suggest she is going to use again it just assume drug addicts can never not be drugs addicts

This was used as propaganda in the 1970s to scare people away from weed . It’s a joke

Yeah the book is actually really stupid being someone who smokes weeds daily never tried lsd and I don't want to but it's proven that it would take such a large amount to overdose on that shed need to drive like 2l of it another thing i kinda hate about it is she's in the final stages of recovery goes through the acceptance stage well in the aslym then goes off the deep end even though her life was getting better

The book is nothing more than anti drug propaganda written by a sad and lonely Mormon youth councilor who IMO was searching for attention. There’s nothing in that book that makes sense or is accurate.

Check out Unmask Alice if you want to see the story behind it and Jays Journal

Does it explain why she writes in such a dumb way cause both the drugs the main charecter supposedly loves require so much it wouldn't be possible to ingest to od on its actually a gross book suggesting people who use drugs never have a chance to get better and redeem themselves even if they forgive themselves

She was mostly a wannabe writer who jumped on the moral panic that was floating around at the front of the satanic panic. I think she had a pretty strong desire to be known and that resulted in her doing pretty much anything to get published including wildly misrepresenting how drugs work.

Edit: Unmask Alice really digs into how she came to write it and how the world bought into it. It also bright covers some of her other “journals”.

Considering the fact that the writer was not a teenage girl and was, in fact, a Mormon woman who had probably never tried drugs or been around any other human being who had, the horrible writing is not much of a surprise.

I did not love the final chapter of Unmask Alice. It seemed tacked on, it contradicted most of the rest of the book and it seemed like the author was trying to cover his ass in case he was sued.

I wouldn’t think about the meaning behind anything in that book too much, but it’s hilarious nonetheless.

You really should read Unmask Alice. As I said in a previous comment, I wasn’t keen on the last chapter. But the rest of the book really filled in some of the info I had always wondered about.
