I can only speak to what I know and that is the Kindle. The e-ink screen looks great in sunlight and the Paperwhite version has a warm light (no blue light) for nighttime reading.

Now that it can receive epub files, it is arguably the most compatible ereader as well.

Between the ones I’ve used (Nook and Kindle Paperwhite) I much prefer the Kindle. It’s got a slightly bigger screen and better battery. Using third party library ebooks was also easier on the Kindle (Hoopla and Libby).

For quality/price It's the Kinde paperwhite, you won't find a better device with how cheap Amazon sell those at sales

If you can get your hands on an original kindle paperwhite it is By Far the best version Kindle has to offer for an ebook reader. You will NEVER have to deal with glare from being outside and it works great in the dark. The one I had when e-readers First hit the market was my favorite, and I've had probably 4 of their "upgraded kindles" and they were all geared more twords app type games and searching/buying things on line.

I really can't say enough good things about my kindle paperwhite the only problem I had was after a few years it stopped holding a charge and wouldn't come back to life and then they weren't selling them anymore.

If you go through Amazon and get a kindle be careful because if you ever get a new account you loose All the books from your previous one unless they've made changes to how they keep track of you. I was out close to a hundred books I paid for but they also give you access to free ebooks

Good luck!

Kindle Paperweight. No blue light in night mode and you can get your Libby books on it.

Huge fan of Kindle Paperwhite. Best all around ereader. I’ve used ereaders in my forms and varieties since 2007 (Sony PRS) and for me Kindle Paperwhite is easily my favorite, and best bang for your buck. Device and ecosystem are just great.
