Just throwing this out there: that light shoulder touch greatly annoys me. Whenever someone does it, it makes me feel like they are the kind of person that is imploring a tactic to win me over; it is uncomfortable and transparently inauthentic.

But that's just me! Maybe it works on some people.

It's more than annoying to me. It's a boundary issue, a red flag that this person is not respectful or trustworthy.

Only in certain cultures. There's other cultures where's that's the equivalent of offering you outside for a fight.
