David Quammen is my go-to. {{The Tangled Tree}} was very good.

I can not thank you enough for the excellent recommendation. I am onto the introductory chapter and it is already captivating.

Ed Yong's book is excellent, I loved it too.

Very different but also a lot of fun: You Look Like a Thing and I Love You by Janelle Shane, where she explains how AI works and all the weird things it does.

Thanks. Will certainly look into it. On Subject of AI, I enjoyed the book by Eric Topol - Deep Medicine
