It highly depends on the book, 19 min has me so off track on Audio
Mary Jane by Jessica Anya Blau was AMAZING on audio. Really enhanced the experience, I think.
I also just read Remarkably Bright Creatures, and that really worked on audio. I don’t think I would’ve liked it as much as hard copy.
I read The Kiss Curse on audio, and I think that ruined the experience, should’ve read it in print. The narrator sucked.
I’ve started sampling audiobooks before committing to them and I think that has made a huge difference in helping me select which ones I’ll do audio vs print.
Thank you for genuinely understanding the point of my post 😂
Lol yeah it seemed pretty clear to me what you were saying 🤷🏼♀️ I don’t get why people hate on audio and why people always think there’s some audio vs print war going on. It’s fine to love both, or not. And I love this question because reading a book in print or audio can def make or break the experience, so I’d also love to hear what books people think work best on audio vs print. Ohh well.
I’m hoping more people understand what I’m getting at lol I have some many books on my to read list and I’ve already had a ton of experiences that went either way lol this was just a short list from this week lol
I definitely started using the sampling feature recently lol since I’m going through 2-3 audiobooks a week
Do whatever works for you. I tried the audio book route, but a) found audiable to be an atrocious service and b) just didn't get as much out of it as reading. But that's me, we're all different.
I love both options I’m just saying that some books are better as an audiobook Vs hard copy, and vice Versa
Sometimes audiobooks are nice for driving/traveling but even then I find it so hard to pay attention. Hard copy all the way!
I never have problems with good plots and narration while listening. 1/10 audiobooks I can barely stand tho lol
Hi there. This subject has been very popular in the past. Please use reddit search and/or check the /r/books/wiki/faq.
I just looked at them, my post was more about specific experiences when trying the same title on Audio or Hard copy! Thanks though, I still have some more to go through
What has made everyone so Tribal? Why can’t you use all forms of books? Why does one have to better or worse than the other one? I have discussed this with my wife ( who is a Librarian) on many occasions. I love to read however I do something for 9 to 10 hours a day called a job that interferes with my reading so I look for any opportunity to read a book. If I’m in my car or out for a run I will listen to an audiobook, at home I will read a paper book and I even have a Kobo for those times I cannot or will not spend the money on a new hardcover release. Kobos work great on vacations too so in conclusion……can’t we all just get along?
This is in no way disagreeing with either style lol this is a general experience for me lol I’ve noticed if I read the hard copy I may not have enjoyed it but the audiobook made me love it. Or I start the audio book and it just isn’t it lol then I read hard copy and love it.

I always read the book. I notice myself drift in and out of paying attention to audio books. That and I typically re read sentences if theyre especially good or complicated.
