It is my favorite book, but I see why you wouldn't like it. The vibe isnt really modern and what I have read in your answer to somebody else's comment you like more of modern romance (I'm new on Reddit and don't know how to answer to comments yet) . Not all of us have to like the same thing:)

i do like the vibes of the book but idk theres just something that stops me from giving it a 4 or 5 🌟 also the story is kinda bland(?) from the start to the middle. i do like the ending parts tho.

These are all recent books, whereas Pride and Prejudice was written over 200 years ago. Are there any classics you have enjoyed?

Yeah, I’m going to have to disagree with you here. The dialogue alone makes it a 5 star novel, but what really makes it special is her poignant but not preachy social commentary and her almost Aristotelian examination of virtue and how those facets impact love. I mean, I think “persuasion” is her strongest novel, but p&p gets the really amusing side characters and the most satisfying ending.

It's not my favorite of all time, but it is very very good. Also, I don't think of it as romance. I think of it as a classic of the 19th century. That's the MA in lit in me.

Persuasion is my favourite :) I will always love pride and prejudice for being my first Austen I read.
