Most mangas/comics especially the black and white one with too much detail , I just get headaches trying to understand what is going on. Its so hard constantly switching between text and art , trying to connect them.

So comics have ultra simple art which feels a 100 times better.

But it never feels as satisfying as reading a novel or watching its anime/movie adaptation.

I am a fairly hyperphantasiac person so I think comic art feels limiting. Novels I can go crazy with my own mind art and movies are ofcourse so much more coherent with music and visuals.

Graphic Novels never feel cohesive or satisfying . But I like the concept of graphic novels :(

That's like comparing chocolate cake to chocolate ice cream. Sure they both have the same ingredient but the execution is different. Personally I don't find comics or manga limiting. I find how it amazing how a manga artist can express something with so few option. I'm currently reading through Blame! the manga and The Martian by Andy Weir.

I would definitely recommend you try Blame if you wanna see how alluring and threatening a world can look in just black and white, but hey, different strokes for different folks

Edit: check out Junji Ito's works as well if you want see some of the best Lovecraftian work ever in a manga

Luckily, there are different art styles even in manga. You might find some of the old school manga better as they often use a more stripped down style. Rumiko Takahashi is one of the best at laying out clear and concise pages to read.

i have a similar problem mainly because i’m so used to reading books, if a read manga my brain skips to read all the words on the page and i don’t really process the pictures. it’s really just a skill i have to develop by taking it slow

Ok you nailed what I was trying to say. I read the text quickly one after another accidentally and only look at the pictures through peripheral vision while jumping through them.
