I recently started a new position for a multimedia company which requires me to be up to date on the newest books (both fiction and non fiction).

I have browsed through best-seller lists which are letting me know which books are most popular right now. I'm also looking at books that are about to be released and looking up the writer, and see if they have a large following or not.

What are other ways that I can keep track of newest or upcoming releases that everyone will be talking about?

Thanks in advance!

Many book bloggers and websites, like Goodreads regularly feature new and upcoming releases! By following these sites, u can stay updated on the latest books that are generating buzz.

Booktok, booktube, bookstagram, booktwt....just browse through those hashtags. Although I find bookstagram mostly for aesthetics.

Definitely TikTok!! So many authors use the platform to promote their books and I find that a lot of the time they gain a lot of attention!

Thank you! Is the best way to follow a bunch of authors, or are there any TikTok'ers you recommend following?

You usally find the popular books of the moment by looking up "booktok", no specific TikToker.

Definitely subscribe to publishers' instagrams and tiktoks. They promote what's coming out soon. There are often Goodreads listopias that are called "Horror books released in 2023" or similar. Keep track of what Book of the Month is selling.

There is far too much stuff on TikTok and the like for any human to usefully summarize. You want to get some sort of automation going. I've no idea what trend-spotting engines are available or imminent, but you can't expect to track all of what the "influencers" put out and still have a life.
