Go ahead and complain-- but feel confident that your landlord won't take kindly to it.

Look at it as a $50/12 increase in your monthly rent.

On principle the owner should be paying the 50 to the agent for drawing up a new lease but realistically if your rent is the same from 4 years ago I’d say just pay it as your rent going up 50 per month is 600 per year

Annoying but not worth the hassle esp. considering you’re lucky rent is not increasing for you

It's irritating but if you refuse to pay I can imagine the broker being annoyed and pointing out to the landlord that your lease is considerably below market (which it probably is at this point). My rent is going up $50 per month so If I was offered the chance for a one off payment of $50 instead I'd bite their hand off.

4 years without an increase and you’re complaining about a $50 fee, I’d pay the fee in a heartbeat and consider myself extremely lucky.
