I kind of wish I had a day off today, because at $3k, I'd be willing to spend a few hours as Ace Ventura to see if I could find it.

Oh yeah I see her next door posts about this cat :(

I really hope she wasn’t taken by someone that wanted a designer cat

Is this one of those cats that looks like a wild cat?

It’s not any prettier than my former Florida feral or my former Dot feral. Sry. But true. I’d say my Florida feral is a supermodel next to this meh kitty. But love is blind so I hope she gets her designer kitty back.

Hoping Nala is found soon! I'm sure shes just out exploring her turf. Like you said check sheds garages etc, I saved a cat that was stuck in the wall of a garage once.

Don’t forget to post on the Buy Nothing JP, Everything Free Jp and Cats of JP pages on FB and NextDoor. A lot of residents of JP are on those sites. Hope she’s found safely.

Pretty nuts that people will shell out $5k to a kitty mill for a designer paint job when there's shelters full of well-behaved, non-inbred cats that live longer. I hope this cat gets found.

Never put the a cash reward. That’s only going to lead to scams and people taking advantage

For people who see this cat as something they could sell (because it's an expensive type of cat), you need to give them incentive to return it rather than sell it. There's a reason cash rewards have been given forever.

Most lost animal foundations highly recommend not offering a reward but what do they know? I guess the random Redditor knows best

Hi_Jynx t1_j9bt3g8 wrote

Because the cat is less likely to be returned or because it incentives people to steal cats for cash rewards?

lucidone t1_j9byqac wrote

All of the reasons from animal foundations that I've read revolve around human nature and the psychology of rewards in general. If you want to believe that animal groups are the end-all, be-all authority on human nature and psychology, go right ahead.

Talking about a lost cat here not the end all be all, be all authority on human nature and psychology. I think you are reaching just a bit.
