When we were looking, we found it to be safer than Randolph or Brockton. But, as you know, there are nice parts of every town.

I spend a lot of time on the Braintree/Holbrook line. It's fine, but you want a car.

I think it doesn’t have much going for it, and if I recall didn’t the state take over the schools? Sounds familiar but didn’t find it on Google.

Where do you work and how often do you have to be there? Commuter rail will get you to South Station, hopefully the times work for you.

A friend bought in Holbrook during the pre-Obama real estate bubble. Holbrook took longer to recover property values than places closer to Boston. I’d bet the same is true of other places, but something to keep in mind.
