There's a new massive (484 unit) housing development in Dorchester near Savin Hill. It's still under construction, but is now leasing.
Rent ranges from around $2,500 for a studio to around $4,800 for 3 bed/1 bath. Seems kinda steep to me. Has anyone toured?

That's Fields Corner/Kane Sq. Ain't no Savin Hill despite what the realtors say.
...it's much closer to the Savin Hill stop than Fields Corner.
May be closer, but definitely not comfortably walkable to either.
It's a seven minute walk...
My bad, mixed it up with another apartment complex being built kinda around there.
Makes me happy to moved to the north shore. Two bed two bath newly built apartments with heated garage parking for 2800/month that are 309 square feet larger than these comparable units. Salem and Beverly have been doing a great job building
If you don’t mind sharing, what apartments are those? I am here paying 2550/month without parking for 1b/1b in Peabody. Need to get 2b and scoping few places in Peabody/Danvers/Salem/ Beverly area
Don’t want to say which exact ones but I’d just go on apartments dot com and filter by that criteria. I’d do $3000 to be safe but try to negotiate. I was able to renew for &2800 after getting it for $2400/month with one of those move in deals (don’t think they do those anymore.
Thanks! Totally get that. I moved in couple of years ago in at 2100 and started paying 2550 last year. I am anticipating them going to 2700-2750ish for existing 1b/1b so yeah your input gives me more of an incentive to look.
Also, please only move in if you’re gay. We are trying to make it into Boston’s version of NYC’s Mercedes House.
Yeah that pool photo is laughable at best.
It’s technically Grover’s corner and it’s a 5 min walk to Savin hill vs 15 to fields corner - signed someone who’s walked it thousands of times since 2006.

It’s going to be an active construction site for at least 2 more years. You’d think they would discount the rent significantly because of it.
That's insane. I live not that far from there and it's $2,500 for 3 bd. It's a decent place too, in unit laundry, new appliances, porch. This seems way way overpriced. The market is crazy but not this crazy imo.
$2,500 in Dorchester....ridiculous.
