I've had it for like two years and haven't had issues. obvi, the price went up after the first year but I still prefer that to giving money to Comcast...

I had RCN for many years and I've been using Astound for a few months now. It's been fine so far and I pay $30/mo including taxes and fees for 400 Mbps.

I’ve been checking the FCC maps and it appears that Astound is covering their footprint all over with fiber in Everett and Somerville. Might be worth checking out that map and your address because Verizon basically seems to have checked out with regards to FiOS expansion here.

Half the price of Comcast for equivalent quality service.

They're decent. Which means a million times better than Comcast or Verizon.

you have to be willing to change providers every few years to avoid having them gouge you on price, but other than that we had good experience with Astound (formerly RCN).

I had them for a while (when they were RCN) and had minimal issues except needing to call every year to get a lower rate. Switched to Starry when it became available in my building.

It's RCN, which is fine. Both Comcast and RCN for me have been equal. They are all the same at this point, just go with the cheapest.

They've raised their price twice in the last six months, and five times in the last two years, so I am now paying more for just internet than I was when I had internet and cable. I think I'm going to go back to Comcast for the bargain.

I have 1.2 Gbps and static IP address for 60$ a month. It's been great. Verizon would only give me a static for business class gig which was over $200 a month, so I switched. Granted my upload speed is pretty slow but that doesn't matter much for my use.
