Coming back to the Northeast Regional and Acela after taking Trenitalia really hurt…those high speed trains were chefs kiss

93N this morning, there was a motorcycle and van parked in the 2nd to right lane, the trunk was open and 2 people were going through their stuff. In rush hour, in the middle of the highway. Fucking idiots.

D line closures are returning next week, did the service ever get better on the shuttles? I walked from Newton Center to Reservoir a few weeks ago after waiting for half an hour.

There's a quote in the musical 1776 that always comes to mind when people get offended at the prospect of taxing the extra/super wealthy: "Most men with nothing would rather protect the possibility of becoming rich than face the reality of being poor."

Had to pay $30 to Uber from MGH area to South station bc the T was running half an hour late and apparently there’s an Uber shortage. Bumper to bumper traffic the whole way to South Station and made my bus with a minute to spare. Fuck the MBTA.

I waited half and hour and had three Ubers idle and finally cancel on me before I found a cab who would take me home from South Station (to the suburbs). Cabbie is getting an excellent tip despite the fact that it’s going to be at least 50% more expensive and fuck Uber. Just don’t accept the damn ride if you don’t want to take me!

Did it end up being 50% more expensive? Uber isn't always cheaper than a taxi anymore.

winter_bluebird t1_ita2sh4 wrote

Yeah, more than. It would have been 60 with an Uber and was 100 with a cab, with tips included.

How far to the suburbs are we talking?

Concord.

Yikes. Not even that far. I understand that they don’t want the dead miles coming back, but now that they can see where they’re going, I agree.. just don’t accept it. I usually don’t have a problem going from Everett to Boston.

Woburn isn't the most pristine town but this actually isn't that bad of a price for a new-build given it's almost 5000sf.

Lol, nobody is going to buy that. MAYBE in the summer of 2021, but now? No way

It already dropped 100k since 9/30. Poor developers from Rockwood Construction purchased a lot with a dated house a year ago for 575k hoping they could get rich quick.

I know I'm like a month late but has anyone seen spaten oktoberfest on shelves recently? I googled and went to a couple of places, but no luck so far

I haven’t been yet, but maybe the craft beer cellar in Belmont if that’s not too far? They tend to have a ton of imports. They’re also connected to a German-themed restaurant called Trinktisch so that’s my best guess.

Definitely not worth searching for.

I was in Munich for Oktoberfest. We hit the Spaten beer hall and outside Oktoberfest we hit Spaten Brauhaus.

That beer is no better than Sam Adams Octoberfest.
