Hi friends. I've decided it is time for me to get really into mushrooms.

Does anyone know good shops to buy mushrooms other than baby bell / portabella? I have seen some cool stuff in Jia Ho in Boston before but that's a little far from me, I mainly spend time south west of the city near Norwood ish. I've also seen some in Wegmans but I crave more. Any tips are appreciated! Thanks!

There is a mushroom vendor that goes to local farmers markets. Maybe the produce vendor in the Boston Public Market has some too.

Well it's a little bit of a drive, but worth it in my opinion...a place in Brentwood,NH called Dunks mushrooms. He has cultivated mushrooms all year around, varieties you won't find in stores. And when in season he has foraged mushrooms. He also sells mushroom jerky, as well as other products. Highly recommend.

Every now and then, my CSA offers mushroom boxes from Fat Moon Farm in Westford, and they're a delicious mix of shiitakes, oyster mushrooms, and sometimes lion's mane mushrooms. Fat Moon Farm's website lists various farms and stores where you can buy their mushrooms, and looks like they also have a mushroom CSA, though you have to go to Westford for pickup.

Farmers markets, including winter ones. Somerville has a good one โ€” check the vendors. Look out for lionโ€™s mane, probably one of the most different ones.
