Startups in Boston?

Hello Bostonians! I’m making this post to see if people can point me in the right direction to find biotech, medical or analogous startup companies. Qualifications are MD/PhD in infectious disease and dermatology. From France, so I don’t know how to navigate the system here well yet. Thank you in advance.

Hey! I can't speak to the legal issues around working and immigration, but in general there is a lot of demand in the greater Boston Metro area for MD/PhDs. There are MANY, MANY (many) companies of varying sizes.

Are you already familiar with Mass Bio? Its a non profit connector. You might check out their job search page as found here https://careers.massbio.org/.

I haven't scrolled through there much recently but I think it might be a good starting point for both jobs and potentially for networking events as well.

Check out the websites for the top three incubators in the area, Flagship Pioneering, Third Rock Ventures, and Atlas Ventures. All three have there own internal recruiting for their portfolio companies. I’ve worked for companies founded by two of the three. There are real philosophical scientific and formation differences between these three venture firms, make sure you do your research and check Fierce Pharma along with other sites to understand how the portfolios have done over time

Come to Venture Cafe @ the CIC in Cambridge. Free event for networking every Thursday night. Google it for details.

I know there is a significant Francophone presence as well as obviously lots of people in your specific field.

Good to meet, I'm not in the industry myself but Boston is the place for biotech if you could hook up socially with anybody from MIT Cambridge anything on the Charles River all biotech. I'm sure biotech and Waltham there's one starting up in Watertown. I hope everything goes well for you. Lots of Real Estate places to live along the Charles.. jump in with both feet.
