Side note -- I once saw the owner of Alba assault an elderly man. The older man was in his 80s, the owner of Napoli pizza. When Keka opened his new location a couple doors down from Napoli, the owner went in to congratulate him. Instead, Keka thought he was there to "steal his business" and he knocked him down. The owner of Napoli ended up in the hospital. Real nice guy, Keka. I hope he gets a hangnail every day for the rest of his life.

Their valet service where they take up half of the public street parking is shady af. Literally selling public land access. Parking in crosswalks, bus stop, intersections, and taking up 25% of the entire blocks public parking is messed up.

I had totally forgotten about that. Yeah, that was huge -- and the fact that the Quincy police did nothing to stop it was also telling.

there’s pretty clearly much more to the story here, i doubt the dude knocked on his door and he opened up with “YOU’RE HERE TO STEAL IT ALL” before cackling and knocking him out

fatnoah t1_ixuhmcb wrote

The old man had the last laugh, though. While he distracted Keka, his nephew snuck in the back. He was discovered pretty quickly, so he only managed to steal some of the business.

I really don't think so. Other Quincy Center business owners/managers always described Keka as uber-aggressive to deal with. He seemed aggressive to the point of paranoia and it didn't take a lot to set him off. People joked about how much of the profits were going up his nose, given his erratic behavior. He would toss customers out of the place if they sent stuff back to the kitchen.

The Napoli owner and his wife -- Guy and Josephine -- were really awesome. They were supportive of the area businesses. They wanted Quincy Center to succeed, not just their shop. When I took over a business in the center, they came in to meet/welcome us, brought us lunch, etc., etc. Other managers/owners always spoke really highly of the Consolis and they steered away from Keka.

It’s nice he made the trip to visit the victims of this horrible tragedy, especially keeping it pretty lowkey (haven’t seen it on the news other than this)

Can’t think of a lot of other CEO’s that would do this

Could that be because the other ones also keep it low key and you don't hear about the other ones either?

One would hope but high profile CEO’s usually post this for PR

How could you know that? Wouldn't you only know about the ones that do post and have no idea about the ones that don't? Like with Tim apple you would have never known he went there without this picture.

That Jeff Sullivan guy kisses Alba’s ass every day. He’s a major douche. Alba’s sucks. It’s overrated and overpriced. They think they own the entire block blocking everything. Koch has to be getting a kickback from them to ignore what they do.

Oh god that must be common then. There's a whole secondary group on the north shore cause the owner of the main group is a shithead who extorts restaurants for gift cards and kicks people who call him out. Uh, allegedly or something....

Alba used to have decent regular brunch and Thanksgiving brunch the weekend after. Great mimosas too!

Always thought it weird that they had a couple of tables “reserved” for a couple of politicians with plaques.

Haven’t been there in over a decade though.

It wasn’t a negligent driver. It was an intentional act of violence by a former employee. That doesn’t make it Apple’s fault, but it wasn’t driver negligence.

So… are we buying this? From the set-up of Derby St Hingham, it just… seems hard to do what the driver did by accident.

Even if he did it on purpose, Apple still isn’t responsible. Which is what the comment said that I replied to.

Not that weird. I wanted to discuss the driver, cause this was the first I heard about the driver saying “he fucked up”. I wanted to know if we believe that.

Guy starts goin on about the original comment and how that’s not what i’m saying yadda yadda. Like yeah man I know. I was never arguing. Just askin a lil question, open for discussion. Relax.
