I have tried to eat there twice and ended up going home twice.

The place took no reservation so we had to walk in. The waiter was super rude and did not sit us down (2 of us) and said that we had to wait outside before he called us in (the tables were barely filled).

While walking outside, we saw his hostility towards another group of diners: dropped the check heavily on the table, kept insisting they paid quickly to leave and even made an attitude.

This was our second attempt to try the food here after many friends insisting on the delicacy. After that evening, we are definitely never trying it again.

Just want to get this off my chest. Anyone else shared the same experience?

After a similar experience I just go to the North End location instead. Been to Brookline three times, last two were horrible service.

No restaurant is good enough for horrible service.

I’d let the waiter beat my ass up if it means I can get some of that squid ink pasta

To hell with Brookline, anyway. Fake Boston. Go to the North End.

Ironic cause the north end is mostly a tourist trap at this point

The North End is largely fake Boston at this point. Don't think Brookline is really trying to be.

The Brookline location has sucked since the pandemic. They were jerks to all their long time employees and none of them came back. Live close and used to go all the time. Enough that I became close with some of them. Their pandemic experiences were enough so that my friends and I decided never to go back.

Not surprised the service is terrible now.
