Boycott Village Tavern!!! They are stealing tips from employees and when confronted, let my friend go after working there for 7 years. They also made incredibly rude, homophobic comments about her. They don't want the public to know and have the money to fight it legally, so please help spread the word! Thank you!

Did your friend get anything in writing or anything that co-workers can corroborate? I'm sure you already know this, but it sounds like she has a case for employer retaliation and discrimination as well.

Given that I live in Boston and not Salem this it's not just moral to not go there, it's easy.

I've always though subs focusing on specific cities would benefit from local news specific to other cities.

This sub talks about greater Boston. If we can only discuss Boston then I guess Cambridge and Somerville are off the table too, right?

Get over it. Anything close to the city is relevant to many people on this sub and fair game.

Only a pedant would raise an issue with someone conflating Cambridge or Somerville with Boston. Salem isn't greater Boston, it's just Salem.

And yeah, I do think local news should be local. If it were a story about Salem and it had ties to Boston, sure whatever. But news about some local shithole being shitty in Salem isn't pertinent to conversation about Boston.
