God dammit. I wanted to go to the Arclight because it's not an AMC.

Arclight is dead. It's either AMC or AMC now.

At least we have some good indie spots in the area. Coolidge Corner, Somerville Theatre, Kendall Square Cinema... All good if you're not trying to see mass-market stuff like Marvel movies.

How could you forget The Brattle!

Oh yeah! I forgot about them since I haven't been there as much as the other three, mostly out of convenience, but it's another solid option.

Arclight was hardly indie.

And the AMC downtown does a decent job showing not just blockbusters.

Kendall at least plays the mass market stuff too. I saw black widow there.

The Arclight experience will be but a mere cross-country flight away, as the original Arclight in LA will re-open next year, as the company owns the land and buildings, unlike Arclight Boston, which was leased.

I knew about ArcLight from having gone to the one in Hollywood randomly. It was such an amazing experience that when I first read about Arclight coming to Boston in 2013 or 2014 I was pumped.

I saw one movie and that was it. Such a disappointment.

I am just glad that space isn't being wasted.

True, but I thought I heard that Alamo Drafthouse was thinking about taking the space over at one point. I would've preferred them over AMC.

There’s an Alamo going into the seaport so we at least have that to look forward to
