This. I went one time a few years ago and was like "Wow, only like, one outdoor area and everything else is practically inside a single big room"....

Then my company rented the place out last March as a buffet (I guess you can do this) and with my company of just 200 or so people, it felt crowded in there.

I’m not someone who usually smokes, but I love taking a couple gummies before the aquarium and watching the penguins. I feel like I could watch them for hours.

Especially if you go near feeding time, it’s very entertaining to watch the behavior of different penguins, they def have different personalities.

Also if you know someone who works at MGH they get really cheap tickets.

My paranoia and anxiety from weed keeps me from going to crowded places high. My eyes also get super red, I cannot pass for sober.

I don’t know if it helps, but as far as I can tell nobody cares if you’re high at the aquarium. So, it’s ok if you can’t pass.

It's more of a general thing for me but good to know.

I mean, I feel like they still mostly have the same things. I think 8 years is probably a long enough interval to visit again and enjoy it.

See about a discounted pass from your local library.

Since you’re there, pop across to the Navy Yard on the harbor ferry and visit the Constitution Museum. (Ferry is $3ish each way, museum is free.). It’s a fun short boat ride. You can board the Constitution itself, but you have to go through security first.

About once a decade feels right for the Aquarium. Boston's Aquarium is pretty meh compared to a lot of other cities honestly, I wish we had something nicer.

I just went a couple of weeks ago for the first time in years. I love penguins so it’s awesome. Not much different. The giant tank of jellyfish are gone but there are some fun jellyfish on the second floor. No sharks in the big tank, so maybe they were canceled due to bad behavior or something but the giant sea turtles are still there and the seals are always fun to watch.

They renovated the tank a couple years ago, replaced all the windows with bigger ones etc. it was the first time the main tank had ever been drained since the aquarium opened in the 60’s. After that the sharks had a hard time adjusting but I don’t know if they ever figured out why.

It’s dated and smaller, so I say yes but only if you get discount library passes. I saw the electric eel kill and feed last time, so that made it worth it in my book!

Nothing changes much, but if you go early or late it’s a very zen experience. Watch the fish, pet some water pals. I always find it worthwhile, and the money goes to a great cause.

I moved to the Bay Area and went to the Monterey Aquarium and mannnnnnn I really wish our New England aquarium was that nice! If you can safely have some edibles and just chill during a slower time of day it could still be worth it.

The fish are older and the water's been changed. But the penguin exhibit smells....the same.

Went last week..Not worth it unless it’s for the kids..there’s actually less now.. exhibits under construction and less fish in the tank..

It is VERY expensive to get in and all the add-ons like IMAX add up too.

A lot of libraries have discounted tickets that can be reserved which makes the experience a bit cheaper. I think I got half off ticket through mine.
