Compression headaches are common. Are your hats pulling on your hair?

Some of the beanies do.. Those I don’t wear to often. I’ve since found some that are looser fitting, but the ‘hair pulling’ sensation is still there.

It’s a bizarre sensitivity.

Might be time to find a winter hat that isn't elastic. You'd have to measure your head to find your hat size, but one that fits right should be more comfortable.

Something like a fur (or faux fur) trapper hat or something similar may be more comfortable, assuming it fits well

Thanks for your suggestion! This has been on my radar for a few years.

I know I can technically just Google ‘hat store Boston’, but do you have any recommendations by chance?

"mad bomber" is a popular trapper style hat that is pretty common. LL Bean usually has them on shelves in the winter so you can try them on for proper fit.

Mine was quite comfortable, warm, and ugly as sin and was holding up fine right up until I lost it.
