I could sell off investments I suppose and get hotel room, my investments are basically my retirement/medical care. And like a lot of people most of my portfolio is in the red.

Yes I could drive back to family—one of who makes enough money to support them—but I have a mentorship and a foothold in a very lucrative profession.
