So I live in beacon hill and my boyfriend is coming to visit me fom NJ with his car. Any recommendations for parking that is cheap? I was considering telling him to park at a walmart or something further out then either uber or take the T in. Curious what others have done in this situation

Driving from NJ to Boston to then be told to park at a walmart (Quincy, Saugus, none of them are close) and uber over is ridiculous. Just pay the garage fee, you live in Beacon Hill what did you expect.

How long will be be here? I would try spothero for short term (they do have a long term option but I've never used it so I can't comment on pricing etc).

If he's here for a weekend, the Post Office Square parking garage is $9 a day. Not incredibly close to Beacon Hill but can't beat the price

Alewife garage is $3/day on weekends and $9/day on weekdays, and the red line goes from there to beacon hill (charles /mgh stop) so its fairly convenient

Our friends visited over Thanksgiving and needed a place to park and we figured that the Boston Common Garage is a really good deal $14 overnight if prepaid online or $17 at the garage. This is weekend & Holiday parking rates. Not too bad for covered parking in this weather! Weekday is $32 overnight.

Woodland Station on the Green Line D Branch, offers overnite parking at $7/day M-F; weekends $3/day. The parking is a multilevel structure, so one can park sheltered from the snow.

Woodland is one stop inbound from Riverside, easily reachable via Mass Pike & Rte. 128.

If it's on a weekend some of the suburbs like Charlestown have free parking on the weekends for non-residents. Then look on the phone for bus/subway connections in the area or take an Uber.

there are lots of non resident spots in allston/brighton, could park there and take the green line or commuter rail
