My sleeper pick is Whole Foods. Consistently good.

My experience is limited, but we loved Bova's and noticed it had been voted the best at some point by some magazine.

Eataly is consistent. Add a touch of your own ice and coffee if needed. Cafe Vittoria for limoncello cake.

Excellent, handmade, and far superior to Wholefoods is in Bocca Bella Bistro in Auburndale, Newton. Unassuming local family-run restaurant serving excellent food for an affordable price.

Thirding Bova's. Also excellent price for what you're getting.

My fiance is a HUGE tiramisu fan and Bova's was well received. Whole Foods is a bit mushy and light on the flavor by comparison, but still perfectly good since it's more convenient for us.

I would add that making Tiramisu together is a good way to spend an evening. It’s not really that difficult as long as you have a good mixer and enough non-plastic mixing bowls. It is fairly expensive though, especially if you don’t already have the liquor on hand.
