i need (more want, i just don’t wanna fix it) a new car. it has an oil leak. it’s old and i just don’t want to deal with it. what are everyone’s favorite used car dealers in the area?

on another note, if anyone wants a 2005 hyundai tucson with low mileage and nothing wrong except a small oil leak, message me lol.

Find the car you want, then search for it using the aggregators (cars.com, autotempest, auto trader, etc.)

And also if you’re willing to take a drive, make sure to bump the search distance. I saved thousands on my current car by being willing to drive 100 miles to get it.

And you need to negotiate/haggle! Never pay sticker for anything over $500!

Exactly. I just bought a Volvo and went through Amex's car buying program to find it.

This is like asking "favorite kidnapper" or "favorite rapist".

Last year I went through this guy: Gary Jorgensen. He's an "automotive consultant," whom my mechanic recommended.

He came to my house, we had a chat about what I was looking for. He did all the searching, brought a couple of cars to my house to test drive, handled the negotiations (he's got relationships with several dealerships in the area), paperwork, registration, etc. then brought the car I settled on to my house and took away the old one.

Fantastic experience. Paid him a thousand bucks, but what I paid for the car was ~$6k less than what it was listed for at the dealership, so I thought it was well worth it.

Take it to a local Carmax if you hate haggling or putting up ads or selling by yourself!
