I tried El Jefe's for the first time last night and some parts of it was delicious but it also missed the mark on a few points for me...

Somehow at checkout, I ordered mine before my partner, and when we got home, I somehow ate nearly a quarter of his before realizing that it wasn't mine. How did his order end up being given to me when I ordered first? Also I asked for some of their chipotle mayo on it and I saw them put queso in my burrito too, but my burrito ended up being really dry. Though to their credit, their rice and chicken were really good, I'll give them that.

Overall I was kinda let down by this experience??? Los Amigos is still my go to. They slap.

So far for me, it's Los Amigos > Amelia's > El Jefe's > Anna's

Would love to try other places in the Boston area! Hit me with some suggestions!

love how shocked OP is by this, this is like…..a totally normal thing that happens all the time. Its why they will sometimes write the name on it

Tenoch is good. Especially when they grill the cheese first. Really good Tortas too

Taco loco in east somerville is my fav... but that Chipotle mayo hits. Literally the only reason I order from El jefe. And only get a quesadilla.

On this past trip to SF, I didn't have the time to hit up El Farolito, which is a must on every trip.

A few days after I got back, I went to Lunita, and I was happy as hell. I live in Quincy and would drive to El Pelon or Felipe's to get my fix and now don't have to!

Check out the painted burro in Waltham. It's always busy but worth it.

If you're tired of "burrito" shaped burritos and wish you could pay more and have a burrito shaped like a grapefruit, you always could try Chipotle... and then remember why you never get Chipotle..

You’ve never been served before someone who ordered before you? Should they let food go cold to make sure everyone is served in order instead?

Depends on the style. If you want something more dependable and 'California' then El Pelon, Tenoch or Esquite should hit the mark.

Teresa's Market in Brighton is also stellar.

Otherwise, if you want something a little more classic - then Cactus Grill, Taqueria Don Rogue (food truck in Everett), and Taqueria Jalisco won't disappoint.

Honestly, I've been getting my burritos from Rincon Salvadoreno - a little hole-in-the-wall. They're a little basic, but really good bang for your buck and pretty damn yummy. Angela's is awesome, though it's a traditional Puebla-style restaurant, so you should sit down and order anything else. You won't regret it.

Super Burritos is a fun wildcard - you never know if it'll be good! But if it's good, it's fuckin' great.

The food truck on revere beach parkway to the left of taco bell . Everything I’ve had there so far I liked. It comes out fast to. Jaliscos in East Boston also.

I like Tenoch, for their Al Pastor. Jefe’s is good if you want a giant burrito for $10.
