If this was being delivered by USPS they will routinely mark a package as delivered with no intent to actually deliver it for 2-3 more days. They get payment incentives to deliver it within the window, but they don't even try to. Amazon doesn't care, as long as they tick the box. Wait and see if it arrives in a couple of days because if it was USPS it may not have been stolen.

If it was Amazon delivery or UPS, then I would just call the non-emergency police number and ask them if they can do it over the phone.

Sometimes. Call the precinct non emergency number and ask. Generally in person reports only for court purposes though if I had to place money on it.

I had the same thing happen this weekend. All the Amazon packages that were on my porch were sliced open and the contents stolen. I contacted Amazon and they were no help. It’s super frustrating.

I noticed in recent months that it’s become increasingly difficult to deal with Amazon order issues. I returned items from 2 separate orders to one of their drop offs and never received a refund for one order. Their customer service insisted I was refunded for everything and when I filed a dispute with my credit card, I received a message from Amazon saying they would take the amount from my credit card on file. I ended up removing all saved cards from my account and eventually won the dispute.

Long story to say that perhaps you should just dispute the charges on your card before filing a police report.

Amazon routinely delivers my packages to a neighbor across the street. Every single month, it happens at least once. I’ve actually watched them do it while I was tracking my package. Bonus points: get to know your neighbors.

I can now recognize the interiors of all my neighbors foyers and front steps from the Amazon delivery images.

I’ve also walked two Amazon packages that were mis-delivered to my house to the correct address this year.

This sounds silly but the people who reply to both jeff@amazon.com and ec@amazon.com are very responsive when their normal customer service won’t help.

Go to each of your neighbors’ homes. Ask for a cup of sugar. Say you are out of sugar if asked. While there, quickly scan their home for your packages. Worst case, you can’t find your packages but you end up with a few cups of sugar. This will also make your neighbors like you - people oddly like those they feel they’ve helped out.
