Does anyone have a recommendation for custom framing for a painting? The painting itself wasn’t expensive so would like something that looks good but won’t cost a ton. Thanks for the help!

Michael's when they have a 50% off framing sale ( which is fairly often)

Honestly I’d look at DIYs on youtube and pop on over to AC Moore or some crafts store

random question but do you work for any of the universities in the boston area? Most have a deal with a frame company for custom framing for staff and students.

Depending on the thickness of the painting and its size you may be able to buy a standard prebuilt frame and a custom mat. Or even a precut mat. The custom part gets expensive.

Framebridge also does framing by mail for pretty reasonable prices but they're not exactlycheap.

My spouse and I get things framed regularly at Artful Edge in Allston and find their pricing very affordable!

I have gotten things there and found them reasonable as well. If you find a frame you like they will mat and do everything else for even more reasonable, I think I had a couple 4x6 photos done in Goodwill frames for like 10-20 dollars each.

Check out Goss Photo in Hanover / Norwell. His prices are so so good and his work is amazing.
