Seriously? You lost your airpods and someone grabbed them. It's not like they broke into your house or car or something. The cops won't bother with this and they SHOULDN'T. You learned a valuable lesson about not leaving your expensive items behind

“Hello police, My negligence resulted in the loss of a couple hundred dollar item that is my own private property.”

“Oh okay sir, let us spend THOUSANDS of dollars worth of time and energy and manpower and the opportunity cost of solving more important crimes in a BIG CITY to help you retrieve an item that you left behind.”

Read that? Does that sound right to you?

It’s hardly worth the police’s time to pick up the paper to file this report. Maybe if you were in one of the richest zip codes in the country and had a couple friends who said they also had airpods stolen in that location then the cops would help. Otherwise, understand that your low value private property is not a good way to spend public resources’ time in retrieving. Sorry, but that’s reality.

yeah i've had cops drag their feet on stolen CAR so lets be honest, your earphones arent going to get much traction lmao. I did have a friend lose their iPhone and manage to get a nice cop to go to their house... when they knocked on the door the person said "i dont have it" and that was the end of it. It's not like they can go searching the house without a warrant (there's no judge that'll sign a warrant for that).

Bigger fish to fry, sorry about your loss.
