Hi all,

I've had an issue with my release model PS5 turning off, usually when I'm playing PS5 games, PS4 games seem to work fine. I suspect it is overheating. Has anyone else had this issue and if so have you resolved it?

I had to reset the software by USB. It happened again another 2 times. Resetting the software helps but not as a permanent fix. I rang Sony because it started happening a month or 2 after my warranty ended. £250 they told me it’d cost to fix through them.

This can be a number of things. If it says it's overheating, it's likely either clogged with dust, the fan is not spinning, or both.

If it's not overheating, we've seen them with bad chips that just die.

Just need to give it thorough cleaning. Google a video to show you how. Mine did it playing Ragnarok. Works fine now.
