I dont know if its still there, but in Hammersmith, not far from iceland, there was a retro electronics shop called X-Electrical. They specialise in buying and selling retro gaming and sound equipment. They're very nice if your very nice, so if they dont do repairs they may be able to point you in the right direction. I used them loads when I used to collect retro games.

You don't. You spend 30 pounds on a new used one

This is a backwards compatible one though and I don't want to lose my progress on about 30 games.

Gotcha. If you weren't in the UK I'd send you my launch ps3 that works just fine.

There might be some dude in craigslist fixing stuff locally If you have cl over there

"new used one".

Awake00 t1_j8ban7k wrote

Yea, that's how that works.

Transfotaku t1_j8bb7r9 wrote

That's so not how it works. The words 'new' and 'used', since you obviously don't understand, contradict one another.

The word you want is 'refurbished'.

Rhys_Herbert t1_j8bc0kd wrote

No, because the used one would be new to op, refurbished is a fixed used one, say if op did buy a refurbished one, it could be said that they had a new refurbished used console

Transfotaku t1_j8bck13 wrote

"New to OP" doesn't mean "new". New means new.

You must really be British yourself to not understand such a simple basic word as 'new'.

Refurbished means "used but functions as good as new" which would be the correct word to use.

Imagine how much better it could have been if the other person understood basic English words, they may be able to have an intelligent conversation even!

I mean, that's assuming much and giving too much credit, but still, imagine. If you want.

Thanks. I was thinking about sending it to them. They're in Stoke right?

I can't actually remember where they are based but I used them a few times for gameboy game battery changes and they were reliable!

there's gotta be some random tech or game shop that can fix that up! especially being such a big city. OP should try looking around town for local game shops and ask
