Probably because I’d imagine it was cheaper for Nintendo to keep the design the exact same but simply leave out the actual GameCube components. Like from Nintendo’s POV I’d guess they just suspected no one would bother looking at it or care about it

I'm sure it was cheaper, but it looks a lot cheaper. Like, my first thought upon seeing this was that OP got a knockoff.
