I recently got one and this is my only gaming device that I own, I really enjoy this and if you really wanna play Halo, this is an amazing one to enter with, assuming that you dont have a PC.

I have a gaming laptop but not a pc

thefjordster t1_j9k0p1e wrote

Why not just play them on your laptop?

khaledskywalker OP t1_j9k1e82 wrote

Are all the game pass games on xbox available on the pc version?

thefjordster t1_j9k2hl4 wrote

I don't know if all of them are but there's definitely a lot of them. If you already have a gaming laptop I'd just get GamePass for that first and see how you go.

Anubra_Khan t1_j9kavsg wrote

It's about the same number of games but not exactly the same games. Most are the same but gamepass pc has some pc games and the Xbox version had some xbox games that aren't on the pc version.

PC game pass is $60 cheaper per year at $10 a month.

I have a PC with Gamepass and a PS5 with PS Plus Premium. Imo, you do not need a Series S.

So u’re saying i should just get pc game pass on my laptop?

Anubra_Khan t1_j9kh3uo wrote

Yes. That would be my recommendation. Your laptop gives you access to the same games as a Series S (although, so does an Xbox One).

However, if you just want to have an Xbox. You might as well save and get the Series X. It'll actually be cheaper than the S over the course of its lifespan, and it's a more capable system. The Series S has abysmal storage. The storage upgrade is proprietary, so it's super expensive.

The Series S is also digital only. The Series X will allow you to find dirt cheap (sometimes free) games for way less than digital sales. Games that you can also resale or trade. If you find/borrow/trade for a few games that are otherwise $40-$70 digitally and add that to the $150 - $200 memory, then you've basically covered the $300 price difference. In addition, you have a better system.

I think the Series S is a cool system for its size and capability. But I think it's most effective in the hands of people who don't game much or have more than a couple of games stored at once. It might be a good, low cost gift from a parent to a kid who might be getting into gaming but isn't 100% sure. That kind of thing. For someone who games frequently and has multiple systems already, I don't really see the point in it.

I'm not who you're asking but yes just get Game Pass on your laptop. That's what I did. Try it out for a month or two to see if it works for you. I only regret not having a console to own physical games.

thefjordster t1_j9o9u9a wrote

If OP bought a series S they've have this problem anyway.

1

thefjordster t1_j9o9wcv wrote

There's no reason not to try that for a while first before shelling out for a XSS.

1

AFish_With_Legs t1_j9k81iw wrote

Oh. And I thought mine was slow. I'd definitely get the series s if your willing to buy it.

3

khaledskywalker OP t1_j9k84vl wrote

The question is,should i just get game pass on my gaming laptop or go for the series s

1

AFish_With_Legs t1_j9k8l42 wrote

If your going to use it, definitely go for the series s and also buy game pass ultimate (this way you can use it on both the laptop and xbox).

Edit: I know Halo 5 and the Halo master chief collection are exclusive to xbox and not on pc, not sure about others though.

1

khaledskywalker OP t1_j9k988m wrote

Are u sure?im pretty sure i saw mcc on pc

1

AFish_With_Legs t1_j9k9qyu wrote

Just checked, yes it is. I've never reay played Halo myself (except for halo infinite). I remember it was only on xbox about 5 years ago, but it has since moved to pc aswell.

originsspeedrunner t1_j9ld92j wrote

Have the people who vote for „no“ even read what he wrote? He wants to try halo and gamepass.

OP, of course you should get one then. It will be the perfect choice for you!

2

khaledskywalker OP t1_j9lddpv wrote

Maybe because they saw that i have a gaming laptop

1

originsspeedrunner t1_j9lgwc9 wrote

Yeah gamepass on pc is not the same as on xbox (at least in my country) - so if you want the full lineup you should go for the xbox

3

YousureWannaknow t1_j9jxw97 wrote

Honestly? If you're low on budget or want to run it as addition it can be good option, however I would still recommend much powerful Series X.. But if you just want Halo... Didn't you considered One X? It would be much cheaper and perform not much worse than XSS, of course if you just want to run Halo and or try GamePass

1

khaledskywalker OP t1_j9jzuev wrote

Yes the main games i wanna play are halo games since I’ve never played them Xbox series x is a bit too expensive because i already have a ps5 So the xbox won’t be my main console

2

YousureWannaknow t1_j9k17id wrote

It's up to you, but in my opinion you would receive better "money/performance" ratio with Onex than XSS 🙃

1

khaledskywalker OP t1_j9k1ayx wrote

Quick question, does game pass on the pc have all the games from game pass on xbox?

1

Despageta t1_j9k51hf wrote

No. Some titles will overlap but not all of them

1

YousureWannaknow t1_j9k5v6p wrote

Just like that other comment says. Unfortunately not all are cross platform. However I know that people do enjoy cloud gaming provided by xbox

1

Despageta t1_j9k56kl wrote

As a secondary device there’s no reason not to get the Series S. I think it’s perfect for that, actually

1

khaledskywalker OP t1_j9k5br5 wrote

Yeah but I’m facing a new issue which is i have a gaming laptop,so should i just get the pc game pass or get the series s anyway

1

AFish_With_Legs t1_j9k76i0 wrote

Honestly, if you have a fast internet connection there is no point. If you buy a controller and game pass ultimate, not pc game pass, you can play all your games on the laptop while also having acess to cloud gaming for xbox exclusives.

1

khaledskywalker OP t1_j9k7byf wrote

If i had fast internet it would’ve been a no brainer honestly

1

Drariestor t1_j9k9kdx wrote

first check the full list of games on gamepass console and compare with gamepass pc

if the games on gamepass pc is enough for you....then no, dont buy a xbox

1

Original_VXtra t1_j9kcd8w wrote

I'd say get a gaming pc or laptop 👍🏼

1

Sweaty_Research_5276 t1_j9kgvky wrote

Yes series s is enough if you have already a ps5, but for enhanced graphics or high fps you can pay 250 dollars extra

1

Simba121991 t1_j9kh026 wrote

Save a bit more and get an X instead

1

ZekerNietTijn t1_j9lttql wrote

How expensive is it in your country? Its good and buy gamepass with it but just dont forget that it can only run digital games.

1

khaledskywalker OP t1_j9luq8g wrote

It’s 250$,without game pass I think game pass ultimate is like 15$ a month but I’m sure I’ll find a yearly subscription deal

1

ForsPoppin t1_j9mtoac wrote

Save up on a good gaming PC all Xbox games can be played on it and you will get much better graphics
