I don't recall current gen consoles being promoted to run old games at 4K and 120fps, in fact I've never heard of anyone buying a current gen console to play old games.

The Xbox series X plays a ton of older games at upscale resolutions and faster frame rates. It was the deciding factor for me.

You are disappointed that you did zero research before making this big purchase? Bummer.

I own PC (7900xt) and PS5.

If you thought console afforded you settings toggles on older games, then you were misinformed. Only certain games have been patched for new gen.

Day one series X. Still not sure I’ve played anything I couldn’t have played on my One.

Don’t get me wrong, I love it, the load times alone are such a QOL improvement, but yeah, the generational leap seems largely irrelevant. Not sure a PS5 would have been any better from that perspective.

Series X only has about 3 games that aren't playable on last gen, and it's weird that no one talks about it. They're actually starting to artificially generate exclusivity by not releasing xbox one versions of games that are available on ps4.

I was a little disappointed in PS5's 20-30 current-gen exclusive lineup (even though they do have some GOTY winners and nominees). But when I looked it up, I saw it was 5 or 6 times more than Xbox.

Are there that many more on PS5? God of War and Horizon aside, I hadn’t noticed, and even they are on PS4 aren’t they?

Yea, it was way more than I thought when I looked it up a few months ago. It's down to around 10 or 15 now that some have since been released on other platforms (returnal, Kena, deathloop, etc). Doesn't include games on PS4 so GoW/Horizon aren't counted. And I guess you could technically add the PSVR2 exclusives to the list since a PS5 is required and they can't be played anywhere else.

I'm pretty much exclusively a console gamer, and I've not yet been able to justify upgrading from my Xbox One. The RE4 and Dead Space remakes are the first games where I genuinely feel like I might be missing out on something, and I can't justify buying a whole new machine just for those.

I mean they never said it would upscale older games, I mostly play 7th gen games though and my Series X boosts some of them

Hate to break to you, but nobody advertised PS4 games to run at 60, let alone 120 fps. It's up to the developer, if they make a patch for it.

Why did you even bother to get one if you own a PC? All Xbox games are on PC and most major PS exclusives have come to the PC. The PS5 controller works on a PC.

The PS5 was just a midrange PC 2 years ago, with more expensive games and online you have to pay for. Weird move, OP.

As for your main gripe - play these games on PC and up the settings?

“Dumb fuck” - you know it’s easier to just not reply rather than swear and not actually argue the point, proving to everyone you have nothing to add or counter?

You literally posted “I got PC” after this comment 🤦🏻‍♂️
