About a year ago I went to a store to buy a PS5(the only store that had them in stock in my town), but because of some stupid rules of the store (had to be their client for about 6m) they refused to sell it. I was totally upset and was on my way out of the shopping center where I saw the Xbox series X for sale. Decided to give it a chance. Bought gamepass and everything was great since I could catch on with some titles I missed previously. But now, after about a year, I regret buying it. There is literally nothing to play. The amount of exclusives and AAA projects is so small that it's just sad. There are some announcements like redfall (which I believe will be a fail), starfield(doubt it will be released any time soon). I just don't believe in Microsoft anymore. Buying blizzard won't change a thing since they are going downhill with their releases lately. So Am I the only one disappointed? Anyone feels the same? I'm actually considering buying the PS5 insted of Xbox.

This is exactly why I switched to PC as my main platform. Me and my friends had Xbox Ones, but we got bored since there were no really new exclusive games later on in it's lifespan.

I convinced my friends to buy PCs and it's the best platform if you like exclusives. Not only do you get access to Xbox and Playstation exclusives now, you also have a lot of other PC exclusives, Sons of the Forest, Ready or Not, Escape from Tarkov just to name a few.

I'm not saying that you have to buy a PC, the PS5 is probably the best console right now if you like it's exclusives, but if you buy a PC you get the best of both worlds. Just something to think about. It all about what you want to play really.

Agree. I just sold my ps5 and went to PC, no regrets.

What do you mean there's nothing to play? Both platforms overlap in like 80-90% of releases. The exclusives are a tiny fraction of the number of games on both sides. Or you just want games from a particular genre/series/publisher/country* that are few on this platform, and overlook the thousands of other game titles that you can play.

Yup, probably my most disappointing console ever. More fool me though, Microsoft are quite clearly a garbage videogame company, so buying their perpetual subscription Trojan horse console is very much my mistake.

i don’t like any of the first party games really. literally the main reason i got it back in 2020 was to play gta 4 but now i have a ps3 and 360 so it doesn’t even matter

I went with a PS5 for my current gen games and exclusives then I managed to pick up a XSS pretty cheap and that handles my old 360 games and let’s me pick up Xbox one games that I may have missed out on.

I do feel for Xbox users though.

Had both PS5 / Series X and ended up selling Series X for the reasons you said - lack of games. Although two main things would make me get one again in the future.

  1. to be fair things are improving in the game department. Redfall and more importantly Starfield are being released this year. Games that actually look good although they need to keep the momentum going. Didn’t hate Gears 5, gets more stick than it deserved although not amazing either. Big Halo fan but they dropped the ball massively with Infinite. Season 3 maps look a step in the right direction. The campaign was lacking in scope both for the story and gameplay. Although I won’t buy another console until they’ve actually released some games and the reviews are good - not promises of future releases.

  2. I’ve got a PS5 disc. Feel that Series S would be a disappointment on OLED. Series X Digital would be perfect given everything is mostly on game pass. Around the £350 mark and would be a no brainier buy for me.

I don't know why you're prejudging Redfall, I love Arkane games and they've been successful in the past. And Starfield literally has a release date... There's new games coming out like Minecraft legends, hi Fi rush, Wo Long Fallen Dynasty, High on Life, games that came from PS5 like Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo, and of course cross platform games like Hogwarts Legacy. Plus all the sports games, racing games, shooters, multiplayer games.

Everybody has been disappointed with Xbox this generation, it's been talked about ad nauseum; but Xbox is in a good place to have a big year. It sounds like you made a rash decision at the store without doing your research, but if you be patient they've had a few good games already out this year and more have release dates.

If you want the PS5 exclusives then buy a PS5 lol.

Arkane games are good. But I have seen the recent reviews from and I'm not impressed. Regarding Starfield, well how many games we had released dates that postponed, and even with that, were terrible. (Hi cyberpunk 2077).

And my biggest concern is that if I wanted to play same games that I have on pc, I would get a pc. They promised to add cool games on gamepass, and buying those studios, they promised a lot of games. But at the end we got wo long, atomic heart, forza, halo, gears and pretty much that's it.

It's almost as if games take a long time to be made or something
