It’s not like I went out and bought all this yesterday, majority of the consoles have been from gifts and from what I’ve calculated it’s been a pretty good ROI in terms of reselling.

If it sparks joy for you keep doing it. I just don’t care about physical media anymore. To me it’s just a waste of space and time. Everything can and always will be on the internet.

Thinking physical media is obsolete is a very common opinion, I have no issue with you having that opinion, I just prefer to own physical media that I grew up consuming and my parents grew up consuming. Plus many people see these as collectors items because everything here has been discontinued so eventually this stuff will start going up in value.
