I bought a Series S (first time owning an xbox in about 5 years) to play FH5 and Halo, which are both excellent btw.

One thing I can't get over is just how clicky and loud the xbox controller is in comparison to the Dualsense. My parents said the next morning it was too loud.

For the PS players this is a demonstration of how loud it is in comparison to the dualsense.

It's become an unexpected deal breaker. I can't game late at night with kids and parents sleeping (smallish house) without it sounding like I'm banging away on a mechanical keyboard.

Any fixes? Or alternate controllers that are quieter?

Edit: I found this and will give it a try.

I think it's way too clicky and hate that it makes you buy your own rechargeable batteries. But do you guys all sleep in the same room or something? The buttons shouldn't be THAT loud.

Yes but when the Dualsense battery becomes less efficient, you have to buy a new controller, instead of replacing with new battery’s.

I don’t know what the ‘sense5 battery starts off like but I own 2 ‘sense4 controllers and the battery was poor to begin with, they are near useless now and come with a 1m charge lead 😂

Yep, feels and sounds like a cheap knock-off.

And the less said about the d-pad, the better. The damn Stadia controller had a better d-pad.

So I own both a ps5 and Xbox series x, pretty outrageous for an average person but I did notice this, now I have an elite series 2 controller and I mainly use that but I did use the original controller before that, and the buttons killed me, now I was partly used to that with the pretty loud keys on my Corsair keyboard that I have for my pc but with the dual sense it is far more comfortable, quieter and nicer compared to the controller that comes with the console, the controllers for the new generation consoles are excessively loud and very disturbing but on the elite series 2 it isn’t that exaggerated but still there, it’s clicky and snaps from in to out, no pressing it down easily and silently like on the dual sense but in snaps in and makes a very recognisable noise, which can really annoy someone in a long session of gta v when your off school because you don’t feel like going in on Monday, but seriously, it’s pretty distracting and I far prefer the dual sense because of it, it is less recognisable on the series 2 but the snap into place is still there and the noise is quieter but still exists

Yeah, I have both PS5 controller and Xbox and Xbox definitely feels too clicky. Also, it's my 3rd favorite controller behind PS5, Switch Pro respectfully.

I have both controllers I use for emulation and yes the Xbox controller is loud, especially the stupid dpad which renders it useless for older games where as the ds5 is just perfect for that. However, I find the sticks much more comfortable and accurate on the Xbox so it’s the winner for ps1 and up. Even though I think the triggers are higher quality on the ds5, I think the Xbox wins there too simply because of the placement of each. All in all, the ds5 is a higher quality controller

You could probably use that sculpter gel that guy used for their nerf thumbstick grips but instead form it around where the sticks clack, or like a gel O ring.

you are clicking it to hard that's why it's clicky.

Thinking of getting an Elite 2 or an Xbox One S controller. I have OCD and the clickiness of the Series X controller is killing me.
