I'm not much a gamer my goal is to watch Netflix on my tv. But I would play lego games they seem nice and easy for someone who never owned a console (me!) What do you think, reddit friends? ๐ŸŽฎ

TLDR; Series s is newer, faster, better

Get the Xbox series s , a playstation 4 at this point is a waste of money as it's last gen and can barely run new games, in a few months no more games will release on ps4 because last gen is slowly being phased out. The series s is a new, superfast console with multiple times faster loading times than even the most powerful last gen console (xbox one x), 60 fps in most games unlike the ps4s 30 fps. Cyberpunk runs smooth 60 on series s whereas on ps4 it's unplayable, below 30 often

Gamepass ultimate for a small monthly fee gives you access to a ton of games and ea play too

Don't think about getting a PS3 at this point.

The xbox series s is still better. Trust me op, you'll regret buying a ps4 within a few months after you finish the exclusives because the newer games are slowly stopping releases on last gen

Xbox series S would be my suggestion, you can also put retroarch on it and play PlayStation 2 and earlier games and most of the Nintendo back catalogue if you want, plenty of YouTube videos will show you how, it will be far quieter and quicker than a PS3 and certainly a PS4 as they tent to be quite loud when playing some games (Xboxโ€™s are always quieter). You can pick them up pre owned pretty cheap too.

I think the choice between xbox and playstation is difficult for someone who has never been a gamer. I have had every ps console except the 5 because I'm skint. Myself and hubby both love the PlayStation. My 2 teens love their xboxes. Honestly we have a stupid amount of consoles in this house. I have tried the xbox but it just doesn't grab me the way the playstation does. I suppose if I cared more about the graphics and all that technical stuff it might be a different situation.

I would get the ps4 as if thatโ€™s your only thing you want to do you still have a machine able to play modern games, and unlike what happened to the wii you will probably be able to watch Netflix longer on the ps4 than the 3

Would you just play classic lego games? If you are buying new ones, PS4, because the new lego starwars is ๐Ÿ‘Œ

The 360 is a great console but you have to be careful which one you get due to reliability issues (older consoles often need new thermal paste too). Xbox One is also very cheap and can play about 600 of the 360 games and some original Xbox games and of course itโ€™s own library, you will be able to get the more modern tv apps on there too which may be an issue with the older consoles. Think about what you want but also be aware that older consoles may not offer you what you need

Xbox series S would cater to your needs. Affordable next gen console and with Game Pass you should be able to access about 400 games.

See if you can find an OG Xbox one. They have a pass through that you can plug HDMI in and get a channel guide for tv and I believe you can rewind/pause live tv. Maybe that feature was removed? Not sure. And I believe you can still voice control of you can find a Kinect with one.

But to answer your question.. go with the ps4

I would also suggest Ratchet and Clank on PS4 and if you would be able to get a PS5 the second game is even better, it's pretty easy even on the harder difficulties and you can even just turn off taking damage if you just want to get use to using a controller. It's kind of childish which honestly just gives it a feel good vibe and I think it's equally as fun for adults.
