Hello guys! I love in eu and want to ask which console is better. I can get ps5 digital with FIFA 23 bundle and plus another black controller for 725€ and also I will buy nba 2k23. On other hand 820€ for disc one with second controller. And also will buy NBA 2k23. So which is better deal and will I benefit more from ps5 disc edition? Let me know!

Disc all the way. Find or borrow 2 or 3 cheap discs and the drive is paid for.

Disc. Disc games can be found cheaper than online store Xbox/PS etc. I find their prices too steep

Disc, if you ever get banned from psn your digital version will be a paperweight until unbanned.

Yeah but is it worth the 100 more euros?

If you buy second hand ps4 games fuck yeah it is

Do ps4 games function in the ps5? Didn’t knew about this

Also, if your account gets banned, you can’t simply make a new one? You console gets locked for good?

You would lose all your games you've purchased & anything else attached to your account.

Holly shit! That’s fucking illegal!!!!!

Anyway, the only person I’ve met that got his account banned, was my dumb cousin because of some racist message. It was not perma, he got grounded for about 10 days

As the others said, disk. This is because eventually Sony's PS5 servers will go down and you will lose the ability to re-download games you've purchased to the machine.

As of now it's unknown if there will ever be a PS5 hack that will allow installation of games from non-legitimate sources.

It's always good to have physical copies.

Thinking about getting a ps5 but what do you mean servers going down? Been an xbox guy and never heard of this.

A_lost_10mm_socket t1_irmnnbd wrote

Eventually the servers will shut down. The Wii can no longer use its features, same for the 3ds. This means that if you purchased a game digitally then you won't be able to re download when the console stops being officially supported.

I mean we already have simple PS5 emulators getting made

PS4 emulation is still lacking, PS5 is barely even a thing at all. I'm sure they will eventually happen, but even the X360 emulation scene isn't that good. As time advances consoles get more and more difficult to emulate.

i both said "simple" and "being developed" i love physical copies but i'm just as passionate about the recent breakthroughs and constant difficult development in playstation emulation

I got the digital version, but I wish I got the disc. Simply for the second hand deals, paying full price for games never feels worth it.

Digital if you don’t like having physical copies taking up shelf space. I went digital and really love not having a bunch of clutter.

Always Disc unless you plan to never buy a single physical game ever. Games are much cheaper and easily make up the difference.

For example, I just picked up Returnal for $20.

Disc and cartridge for every console I can, unless there is a indie game that’s only digital then I will go for it

Definitely disk, can get games waaaaaaay cheaper second hand.

If there’s ever a potential if you moving to another country, or if you want to have the same library of games in more than one location digital is a better choice.

Disc if you can, Digital if you you have to .

Intelligent-Dingo791 t1_irk7r3p wrote

I have the one with a disc, but I barely buy any discs. I’d recommend getting the one with a disc if you buy discs, but if you regularly buy games digitally, then go with the digital version. Albeit it’s always nice to have a disc reader, because you never know what can happen. Also, you can borrow or buy second hand discs for cheap.

Si-FiGamer2016 t1_irkgoxr wrote

I've always wanted a disc version. For you, go for the disc. You never know what will happen to the games that are digital until it's too late. If you get banned, those games are as good as gone. If there's maintenance, those games might get locked until you can play again. The PS5 disc version may be more expensive by $100, but it's worth it in the long run.

Disc All the way , do not listen to the clowns that tell you digital is the way to go . Don’t believe me ? Compare the prices of disc based games to the ones on psn , psn prices are an absolute joke , don’t get stung ! 👊🏻

Quiet_Spy OP t1_iro68w5 wrote

Yeah but i will buy the newest games, so i don't know. They are the same price

1

Oldschool-fool t1_iroadtu wrote

But the prices of disc based games go down a lot quicker than psn prices , and you can’t trade in digital games or sell them .

Imagine having a ps5 30 years from now, showing your grandkids a console with no supported games...... get the disc...
