This is bugging me since a really long time: despite my problems with it as company, I LOVE Nintendo's games, they're almost the only ones I'm able to enjoy in the last years, ever since Microsoft and most especially Sony changed their general direction. Unfortunately, the feeling for other players doesn't seem to be mutual, and even thought the sales of the games are apparentely high, it's FAR easier to find people who hate Nintendo's games than people who love them... I feel the problem is that despite their quality they always release on platforms that are inferior to their competitors' ones, and that makes people taking the distances from them and also throwing shit on them deliberately.

Do you think Nintendo's games would be more loved if they were on Xbox and Playstation as well?

Most Nintendo games I’ve played are very well optimised for the hardware, and I appreciate the console’s low power draw and portability.

I also enjoy more graphically impressive games on my PS5. But to me they don’t make Switch games inferior, just different.

The Switch has actually really impressed me, and as a prior PlayStation-only gamer, wasn’t actually the step down in experience I was expecting at all.

No, because you are in the vast minority of people who really care about specs over games.

I do not. But I think the people who throw shit on their games I mentioned in my post do..

I feel like sane people just ignore those who care about 4k120 over actual quality of games. I say this as someone with multiple 4k120 setups, for PS5, XBSX, and PC.

Nintendo first-party stuff by and large is designed with the hardware limitations in mind, and tends to look great even on my 4k OLEDs (with some exceptions - Astral Chain, I'm looking at you, and Pokemon). Anyone who has a problem with that has other issues to deal with.

we already have Nintendo games on a different console: mobile.

Sure you could argue that the original GameBoy was inferior. Pea green screen, with four shades of pea green. No backlight. Highly inferior to the Sega GameGear.

And the DS. Super inferior to the PSP.

And the Switch compared to the Series X? There's no competition!

But that means nothing, because Nintendo worked within the limitations of the hardware and produced AMAZING games. Specs don't matter if you know how to use them to still make great games.

Probably not I think you would end up with a massive drop in quality would end up having battle passes in breath of the wild

They wouldn't get away with it on a different console. I didn't buy a Series X to jump around collecting coins for 40 years

I genuinely would be fine if all of Nintendos new consoles had similar specs to the GameCube, I buy consoles for exclusives hence why I buy Nintendo consoles and a PC, the only non Nintendo console I bought was an Xbox360 E for MC legacy edition but I would never buy an Xbox series as I can play Xbox games on PC with Xbox play anywhere and with Sony releasing PS games on PC, Nintendo will soon be the only company worth buying consoles from.

I've always thought every gamer loves Nintendo and the games? Nintendo games are generally fun and family orientated, you don't buy one to have serious gaming sessions... Nintendo will always have a place in my heart even though the last one I bought was a Wii...

A lot of Nintendo games take advantage of the system their on porting them to systems that don't have motion controls or the switches touch screen won't work on systems that don't have those features
