Hi,
Little background about me. I'm turning 30 and used to be a big gamer back in my early days. I have very fond memories of playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1/2 and Halo 3 on Xbox 360 with my friends after school. I had a PlayStation 2 before that, but was probably a little too young to really get the most of it, so most of my gaming memories are attached to the 360. Other than FPS type games, I've always been into the Fifa's, Maddens, 2K's, and MLB the Show games - basically any sport game. I like open-world games, but not as much as I think I will when I buy them (only played like 25% of RDR2 before getting bored).
I currently have a PS4, but with life getting busier, I never really got into it. I just booted it up for the first time in a while and am working through Last of Us Remastered and am quite enjoying it. I don't have a ton of time anymore to dedicate to playing COD or Halo all day like I used to, so the single story games that I can pick up for 15-30 mins at a time are appealing to me. With winter coming, I might have more time on my hands as my work schedule is pretty flexible.
With that being said, I currently have an unopened PS5 and Xbox series X on my living room floor and am having a super hard time deciding which to return. I love the subscription based model as I can play tons of games without having to feel guilty about forking out the 40-60 bucks a pop and then not finishing them, and it seems like both gamepass and PS Plus Premium offer good choices.
I don't really have a community of friends that play one system or the other so that doesn't really mean much to me. I was originally thinking about the XSX for Halo and other games that bring back good memories, but I also feel like I might be missing out on some of the single-player PS exclusives that will come down the line. So my question is, which do I return? Is the xbox and gamepass a better option for my needs? Or should I stick with Playstation to be able to enjoy the great exclusives as they are released?
Thanks!

Imo If you haven’t got the social aspect for playing with friends then I’d go with a PS5. I’ve got a XSX but I usually play online with people, If I didn’t have that I would defo go for the PS5. Also depends on the games you want to play, I’m a big Halo fan and prefers the controller. All personal preference, that’s my 2 cents.
