Even as a Meta hater, the Facebook account is handy. My side hustle is refurbing retro gaming gear and FB has become so much of a local hub that everything else pales in comparison. I'm not exaggerating, the traffic differences between FB and any other platform are staggering.
I deleted my original "real" FB account years ago but made a new one for my side business with one picture and maxed privacy settings. I mean Meta already has ad profiles for non-users so it's a pretty minimal sacrifice in my book.
Why did I just write two paragraphs about making a FaceBook account? Cause on Monday I'm picking up 2 free sheets of plywood and some 2x4s and on Wednesday someone is buying a GameCube I couldn't sell on eBay.
I have seen many people with PS5's and XSX/S's looking to sell or trade while browsing for deals. Every single person interested outside of r/hardwareswap was on Facebook. I was looking for PC parts so the copious trade posts stood out. That being said, I imagine some of the trade volume has died down now that prices have somewhat normalized.
