Yes you read that right, PS2 not five, I’ve been collecting and the ps2 would complete my Sony home console collection but I would really like a next gen system and I think the series x is a good choice for me, I wouldn’t really use it much so it’d probably be better to get a series s or ps5 digital but I like having all my games on a shelf, thoughts?

Don't get a ps5 digital. It's only $100 difference. You find 2 bargain games that are otherwise $60 digitally and you've paid off the $100 drive. If the PS5 digital is on the table, get the disc version.

I almost feel the same way about series s vs series x. Although the price difference is $200, these are 2 completely different systems. Whereas, the only difference between the PS5 models is the drive, the difference between the Series S and X is a drive and performance. For the price, the Series S is pretty remarkable. But, as soon as you add extra storage or buy a few games digitally that could have been bought for less used, then you've blown through that $200 savings and could have bought the better performing Series X.

I'm not following the comment you made about completing your Sony console collection. Do you already have a PS5 disc version? If so, get a ps2 for $50 and an Xbox series X.

One costs like 20-30 and the other one I'm guessing costs a lot more than that

Buy whichever has games you want to play

You want a next gen console, you’ll get the most powerful one. You want to have games on your shelf. You can have that with the X. The X also gives you access to gamepass if you’re interested in this.

I think the X would fit your wishes the most.

It’s worth pointing out that the Series X can use retroarch (no hacks, just an app) which means you can play most PS2 games on it, in fact you can play PS1, GameCube, Super Nintendo, arcade, basically almost anything up to about the PS2 but there is starting to be some compatibility with PS3 so perhaps they will have that worked out at some point in the future. This option doesn’t give you games on a shelf though but does let you play more games than any console in history. Look up recent guides on YouTube

Wild. Slims are real cheap here . I can get black or silver fats for 35 ordered from an online webshop sent to my house by tomorrow. About 40-45 if i get one that includes a controller

And if i look at the online marketplace i can definitely find them for 20-30.

Yeah, I think I’m gonna go for the X, PS2s will be around for pretty cheap for ages but the series x is gonna see all kinds of price changes I think (especially with the ps5 price increase) and there’s not many series x where I live but ps2 are every where so if I want one in future that’ll be fine, thanks.
