Hi everone

Im looking for advice on a budget solution as I would like to buy my 6y daughter a console to play Just Dance for xmas.

It doesnt have to be the 2022 edition and I would like to buy a second-hand console to keep cost low (and realistic for us).

I'm not a console guy but it would be a bonus if you suggestion could support a game like Wii sports, which was the hottest thing last time I touched a console :-) We dont own any DVDs so thats it not a requirement.

Thanks for any advice you may have.

Wii has every one of the games on and it's cheap

If your alright with piracy then you can run the Dolphin emulator on any modern phone or PC and use a third party sensor bar like the Dolphin bar to play Wii games with a Wii remote

I'd suggest getting an Xbox one with a Kinect camera. Both can be picked up on the cheap. Just dance is a blast with this setup and totally hands free

The wii is super outdated and you won't be able to play anything relased in the past 2 generations. An xbox one with kinect works for jd

The Wii is your best bet in this case. I think you have every just dance from the original up to 2020 if Iā€™m not mistaken. Super cheap to buy and the games arenā€™t expensive either.

wii:

-plays just dance (up to 2020 iirc) -plays wii sports -can be purchased for 40 bucks online -easy to homebrew to load the games off a usb so you donā€™t even have to worry about disk usage

thatā€™s my pick for you

If the year of just dance doesn't matter I would say go nintendo wii. I see those all the times for less than 20 dollars.

Typically, Iā€™d recommend a wii. Great games. Even has Wii Fit.

But I did just pick up an Xbox 360 and Kinect for about 80ā‚¬ so I could do Nike Kinect Training. Itā€™s definitely not as fun Wii, and not as much variety as Wii Fit, but Nike Kinect Training is the best workout game Iā€™ve ever tried. It corrects my form. Iā€™ve never sweat this much before and it feels like a whole body workout. It has become my favourite workout ā€œgameā€, beating out Wii Fit (U), Ring Fit Adventure, and Beat Saber.

While Iā€™m a big fan of the Wii, after getting the Kinect I see its appeal. Itā€™s sees your whole body, forcing you to actually move your whole body. With the Wii/Switch, you only really need to move the controllers in the right position. Your form could be questional, but it wonā€™t get corrected.

Get a wii. They are really cheap and support all just dance games up to 2020. The wii also has so many other great games and can play all GameCube games. You can also easily mod the wii and add back all online functionality. Also make sure to set the censor bar position and widescreen settings to the right ones, Iā€™ve seen so many people with the wrong ones and it only takes a couple of minutes and makes everything more enjoyable. I would also suggest for you to buy a wii to hdmi so you can connect to a modern tv.
