For my entire life, I’ve had an Xbox 1. My friends from home have all had Xbox’s so we would always play together. But the exclusive games available to PS5 seem so much better. Spider-Man, God of War, Horizon, RDR, etc. Generally I like single player story modes but I’ll play sports games a lot, especially with my friends. It feels wrong to not get a new Xbox, but I feel like I could have more fun with a PS5.

I mean you do still have the Xbox if your not planning on selling it

> RDR

You'll get more Red Dead on a Series X. All three games, in fact.

Damn, even red dead revolver? Maybe xbox is better. Wait... Nvm I forgot about God of war lol.

Yeah. They made some original Xbox games compatible a while back. Red Dead Revolver was one of them.

Since you prefer the single player story games, I’d recommend the PS5 for you. I prefer those games, too, and really wanted the PlayStation exclusives, like Spider-Man, which is why it was the best option for me.

Nah my ps4 slim only lasts for like 4 months Xbox is better it will survey you your whole life if you keep cleaning it.

It might be an issue specifically with that model of the ps4. I had my ps4 since 2015, and it still works perfectly. Personally, it was just time for me to switch to the ps5 for, and they luckily had one in stock, but if I hadn’t gotten it, I would’ve still been perfectly happy with my ps4. And I only cleaned out the dust every 2-3 months, too.

Edit: I have used an xbox, and it wasn’t too bad, but I prefer the PlayStation.

PS5 hands down. There’s a reason it’s sold out years now.

I had this dilemma for so long, while I was younger, all of my friends had Xboxes and Laura together, however I had a PlayStation and couldn’t play very many games with them.

If these are you only two options, I would have to say Xbox.

Some of the PlayStation exclusives are some of my favourite games ever, but there is a pretty good chance you will get to play them at some point.

Basically I think playing with friends is more enjoyable then a few good games, all of my best memories in gaming are with friends as opposed as to while playing spider-man

(Good games though)

I think the absolute best setup in a perfect world is a PlayStation and some kind of PC, which is what I’m rocking right now, I can play anything with any of my friends and I still get the exclusives, but obviously that isn’t possible for everyone.

PS5. The exclusives now that Sony has outweighs the Xbox.

Get the Xbox Series X for playing with your friends, there are some great games on there too (RDR is not a PS exclusive btw)

Sell your Xbox 1 and get a used ps4 with some exclusives for that money. It will be cheaper and you will get a good part of the Sony experience.

You listed four gritty, dark, over-the-shoulder, third-person action/adventure games.

Such variety.

You would have fun with a PS5. Not necessarily more fun.
In the end, if you have friends that actually play together (not one's that just say "let's play together" and then don't actually commit), then go with the platform they're already on.

GamePass is a crazy good deal. Absolutely nuts.

A PC, Xbox One X, with GamePass, Switch, and Quest 2 were giving me more gaming opportunities that I even have time for. Only reason I have a PS5 is because I won it in a contest. Not looking forward to buying PS games (so dumb this isn't backwards compatible with my PS2/PS1 collection).

DualSense controller is really cool, but as an ergonomics fanatic: the Series controller is notably more comfortable, and also makes more sense in terms of layout. I love the Adaptive Triggers and fast-responding haptics, but those are not must haves, just really nice to have.

If you value playing games with your mates more than new single player games, get the Xbox.

I have both and love my series x. If you love the playstation exclusives then go that way since more na s’more games do cross play but man gamepass is so good it’s allowed me to play such greater variety of games and try stuff i never would have. I have tried out Sony’s version of gamepass and while quite good not up to par with what’s on the xbox, to me at least.

Bare in mind exclusives on the xbox and playstation are coming on the pc so you can enjoy both but if you like controller then on with ps5 as due to budget on pc to handle the games. Ofc think it though before picking.

Go with what you want personally first and foremost. But since you asked, GP is overrated junk. Bunch of indie crap and some decade old stuff from most of the publishers MS bought up during their shopping spree. I've had a Series X and Series S and I've always gone back to my PS5 as my daily driver.

in this age and time get a PC if you are not interested in console exclusives. it depends on what you want to play.

I would buy the Xbox. Just because the most of my friends have one too.

I personally prefer xbox, i play forza alot so that could be a biased, but i think xbox has better exclusives, i also feel like xbox is much more sleek and easy to use, so i feel like xbox is best for your causal gamer, with the way Microsoft is owning more and more companies, it may be smarter to buy and xbox. I also feel like xbox gameplay is much smoother than PlayStations, but the down side of xbox is the amount of of players, PlayStation is like the apple of the console world, not necessarily the best but the most popular.

Personally i would go for an xbox, but just look at exclusives and prices ect.

Series X for the main and a ps4/ps4pro for the couple PlayStation exclusives is the no brainer this generation. Sony royally dropped the ball with the PS5, and they're likely to be releasing A PS5 pro in order to be able to compete with the series X hardware wise so you'd want to wait for that anyway 👍👍
